Travel With Me

Oooooo…. Ahhhhhh…..

Let’s see…. where did I leave off? Ah, yes, we just had the storm the last night in Keystone, SD. On to Jackson Hole, WY we go! So far we have had nothing but beautiful campgrounds (even if they were primitive). Well, welcome to the Jackson Hole KOA. The worst place I have ever camped. I won’t go into that though, because there are far too many amazing things to talk about instead….

Ahh Jackson Hole. I have missed you dearly. This is one of my favorite little towns. It is so full of small town charm. The mountains are absolutely breathtaking. The colors that are created by the sunrise are something you just can’t capture no matter how hard you try. I was here last in the fall just before the ski season. In July, the town is bustling with tourists. Even though it is Independence Day, the crowds are small and polite. We stopped and got my favorite Philly sandwiches from the New York City Sub Shop. After that we just kind of meandered around town soaking in the sites and people.

The Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. It is the definition of all things summer. When I think of this holiday there are a few things that come to mind: lawn games, BBQ, watermelon, flip flops, red, white and blue, and of course FIREWORKS! Jackson did not disappoint. I think sometimes we get caught up in all the splendor and forget what we are actually celebrating: our freedom and those that have protected that and are currently protecting it! Shout out to all of you service men and women. We thank you for the ability to sit on a blanket at the base of Snow King, laugh, eat watermelon, and ooo and ahhh at the fireworks. It really is those short small moments in life that make you realize what you have. Even though it was freezing and we wanted winter coats, it was one of my favorite fourths so far.

After our very loud (sleeping next to the Snake River) and cold evening we headed to Yellowstone. This is my second time here as well (although last time I did not get to see Old Faithful erupt). It was much more crowded this time, but still just as wonderful. Just the sheer amount of nature in that park is enough to make anyone stand in awe. Last time, I was lucky enough to come pretty close to a lot of wildlife, so of course Sharice (my lovely sister) was so excited to see a lot if it. We sadly only encountered a doe at the visitors’ center. However, we got to see Old Faithful in all her glory and Morning Glory as well (my favorite). There were also beautiful lakes and mountain views. With all the traffic, we didn’t have enough time to see it all, so back to camp we went. The most amazing sunset welcomed us back to the terrible KOA.

I can say that this stop on the trip was everything it was promised to be. Wyoming is one of those places that makes you feel at ease. The wide open spaces, mountains, wildlife, and just roaming feeling makes my wanderluster’s heart feel satisfied for a moment or two. Please stay tuned for the next stop on our little (actually very big) adventure! Feel free to leave us comment to read on our way!!!

I am an almost 30 year old traveling as often as possible, making the most out of life, and working my butt off to get to do the things I like.
