Travel With Me

Resfeber

“The restless race of the traveler’s heart before the journey begins, when anxiety and anticipation are tangled together.” This is what I feel every time I get the itch for a new adventure. I’ve never been able to put a word to it. It has always just been a feeling that is hard to describe to anyone that doesn’t travel often. For me, it’s any time I stumble upon a new place I want to see or new trail I want to hike. This time this feeling brings me to tomorrow. Tomorrow I set out on an adventure with friends. What wonderful and exciting things await us, you ask? Oh, just some waterfalls, alligators, and sandy beaches! Oh my! And don’t forget the food!

Six in the morning is there every single day, but tomorrow’s six in the morning will be a little different. That’s when the adventure starts. The van is all loaded and ready to go. First stop: Amicalola Falls, GA. This is a place I’ve been before, but every time is a little different. From there we will head to Skidaway Island, GA just outside Savannah. Of course we will be taking the scenic route to avoid Atlanta! The campground on Skidaway Island has always been one of my favorite places to camp. Tucked away in the trees beneath the hanging Spanish moss, this place is everything I think of when I think of southern outdoors. It comes complete with all the gnats and ants and giant mosquitoes, but it is also peaceful and makes me happy to be in the trees. Next on the adventure list lies Charleston, SC. As most of you know, this is a place I visit every year (this year I am lucky enough to go twice so stay tuned). And, for the final stop on our road trip, we will be heading the the Smoky Mountains.

Even though I have been to all of these places before, it’s always exciting and always different. I’m using the same Cabela’s tent that I’ve had for almost 15 years. Yeah, that same one from the popcorn tent scenario. However, I’ve got a pretty awesome new Osprey hiking backpack that I picked up from REI. There are a few other things that I got for this trip that I’m excited to use as well.

Well, let the adventures begin! Stay tuned for a play by play! Feel free to sign up for post alerts with your email. Here we go!!

I am an almost 30 year old traveling as often as possible, making the most out of life, and working my butt off to get to do the things I like.
